Fresno, Calif. (KFSN) — A Bullard High School student wants to make sure her classmates are dressed for success.
“When you’re a teenager, you can feel really alone, especially when you’re struggling,” said Bullard High School student Grace Osburn. “I want the closet to be a place where people can know that there is always someone who cares about you.”
From head to toe, Osburn says he wants every Bullard High School student to look and feel their best.
“I decided to start a closet here in Bullard for kids to come in and get free clothes,” Osburn explained.
Osburn came up with the idea earlier this fall and has been working on the project ever since.
“A lot of work. A lot of communication on my part,” Osburn said.
The goal is to create a space where students can come for free clothes and hygiene products.
“Having a space like this will allow them to refocus on education rather than meeting basic needs,” said Bullard High School Closet sponsor Shelbie Ohanesian.
They hope to open the closet to all students by January, but still need donations.
“We always need more shelving, more hangers, more hygiene products,” Osburn said.
They also accept new, used clothing and monetary donations. You can drop off any donations in the Bullard High School office until this Friday or when students return from winter break on January 9th. You can also donate online.
