Alicia Silverstone Goes Nude To Inspire People To Wear Vegan Clothes: ‘I Never, Never, Strip For TV, Movies, Nothing, But I Did It For PETA’
Alicia Silverstone posed naked for the first time.
Wearing only a pair of vegan leather boots in a field of cactus, the Clueless star showed off her natural curves, a very rare move for her as she’s never gone nude for a movie or TV show.
The image was featured in the new 29-foot Times Square PSA in New York, which was erected on Tuesday.

The copy read, “Don’t be a jerk.” Wear Vegan.’
It also said: “Instead of supporting industries that kill animals for their leather, everyone can choose innovative vegan leathers made from prickly pear cactus, mushrooms or apples.”
The billboard is located at the intersection of 40th Street and Eighth Avenue in New York City.
“I never, ever dress naked on TV or in a movie or anything, but I did it for PETA because it’s important to me,” the vegan star says in an exclusive video interview, in which she explains that skin devastating effects on the planet.

‘[T]The amount of resources, water, food, oil for transportation, the amount of energy that goes into making leather is extraordinary. It’s just not sustainable. The earth will not endure.”
Compared to the production of plant-based leather, cow leather has nearly 10 times the negative impact on the environment and contributes more to global warming, water pollution, water depletion and greenhouse gas emissions, PETA’s press release explains.
“Up to 80% of deforestation in the Amazon rainforest has been caused by the destruction of land for livestock, and 130 different chemicals, including cyanide, are used to turn their skin into leather,” PETA added.
Silverstone joins a long list of celebrities, including Penelope Cruz, Jenna Dewan, Taraji P. Henson, Eva Mendes and Olivia Munn, who have helped PETA promote humane wardrobe choices.
