Awareness Campaign Organized To Prevent HIV/AIDS Transmission In Colasib | Popgen Tech

A statewide event to spread awareness and prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in Mizoram – ‘Zoram Harh Rawh Campaign’, was held in Kolasib district today.

It was jointly organized by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Kolasib, the District AIDS Prevention and Control Committee and the Sub-Chief of YMA, Kolasib.

The function was honored by the legislator and the Vice-President of the Board of Trade and Industry – K. Laldawngliana in the Parish Hall of Venglai, Kolasib.

During the awareness campaign, a presentation was also made on HIV transmission and prevention. It was conducted by the Mobile Adviser of ICTC – Lalmuanawmi and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) – Dr. Lalawmpuia Chhangte, highlighting the current scenario of the prevalence of HIV / AIDS in Kolasib district.

He pointed out that there are 1.98% positive cases detected in 85,096 blood samples, collected throughout October 2002-2022. The campaign incorporates – song writing competition, cultural dance and singing competition, inviting participants from various YMA branches in Kolasib district.
