The Big Rapids Elks Lodge supports 22 local families by donating Christmas dinners and clothing.
Photo courtesy/Joshua EllingBIG RAPIDS – The Big Rapids Elks Lodge #974 made Christmas a little merrier for 22 local families with more than 70 children.
As a result of collecting donations, each family received a full Christmas dinner, as well as clothes and gifts for the children.
The fundraiser has been an annual project of the Elks Lodge for over 50 years.
Josh Elling, president of the Elks Lodge, said that in these unprecedented times, the need to give back has never been greater.
The Elks Lodge has previously supported initiatives including local student art, educators and local veterans last year.
The Elks Lodge was also recently named a Friend of Education by the local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, BETA KAPPA, an educational honor society that supports local teachers.
