KAMALANAGAR- Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) today started the Golden Jubilee closing ceremony celebrations organized at CADC Secretariat Complex and Kamalanagar Helipad. Dg Robert Romawia Royte, Minister of State i/c Sports and Youth Services graced the occasion as the Chief Guest who arrived from Aizawl this morning accompanied by Dr. Lalrozama, Department of SYS & District Council and Department of Minority Affairs James Lalramnghaka, AE, MSSC. , Dg R. DG Robert Romawia Royte while speaking expressed greetings and best wishes to the Chakma people of the Autonomous District Council on the occasion of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Chakma Autonomous District Council.

Mizoram: CADC observes Golden Jubilee celebrations

He shared his experience working with CADC people before becoming a Minister. Due to his efforts, various private schools and North East Council Fund were built in Kamalanagar. He implored the leaders of the Chakma Autonomous District Council to work for the people and the development of CADC as it is now 50 years old. He hailed Dr BR Ambedkar for his contribution towards strengthening the Constitution for the protection of the tribal minorities under the sixth schedule.

He appealed to the CADC leaders to work in cooperation with the State machinery as it plays an important role in the implementation of various functions such as Administrative, Legislative and Financial support to the Chakma Autonomous District Council as the duo share the same budget.

Highlighting the various development works done by the State Department in the area, CADC informed that the Power and Electricity Line from Lungsen to Kamalanagar will be completed in his next visit in January next year. Construction of permanent road from Kamalanagar to Borapansury at a cost of Rs 43.81 crore will start soon, internal roads at Borapansury, Longpuighat and Kamalanagar at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore, 1 crore and 2.5 crore respectively, IT and Skill Development Center in . Govt. Kamalanagar College in collaboration with NEILIT for various courses in Information and Communication Technology. He also informed that Volleyball Court in Kamalanagar at the cost of 30 Lakhs will be constructed soon among others.

Mizoram: CADC observes Golden Jubilee celebrations

Earlier today, he inaugurated Astro Turf Football Ground at Kamalanagar which is the only Football Ground in CADC area. The project is funded under PMJVK at a cost of Rs.532.50 Lakhs which includes site preparation, security fencing, concrete block paving and footpath around the ground.

Dg Kali Kumar Tongchangya, Chairman of the Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee, unveiled the CADC Golden Jubilee Memorial Pillar at the CADC Secretariat Complex, recalling Dr BR Ambedkar for maneuvering the tribal communities to safety under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of India. He paid homage to the Founder of the Chakma Autonomous District Council and thanked the CADC staff for their one-day contribution towards the closing ceremony of the CADC Golden Jubilee.

At the main venue, the celebration started with the chanting of prayers for peace by Bhikkhus, followed by the Message of Appreciation for the Founder of Chakma Autonomous District Council by Dgb. Jyotsna Chakma, DCSWO, CADC and Member, CADC Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee, 2022.

The program showcased various aspects of Chakma by students from various schools and Chakma Mahila Samiti in collaboration with Department of Art and Culture, CADC which included demonstration on Unity in Diversity by Students of Vijoygiri Academy, dance performance by Students in. KMM Comprehensive Middle School.

The program also showcased cultural items presented by Chakma Mahila Samiti and Department of Arts & Culture, CADC.

Chairman CADC Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee while speaking introduced and welcomed guests and dignitaries from New Delhi, Tripura, Aizawl and various places outside CADC. He thanked the Media Personnel who came from far and wide to attend the programme.

The celebration will continue in the evening and the next day with a cultural program scheduled.
