ATTENTION: THE FOLLOWING REPORT IS A Rumor. PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING STORY WITH A GRAIN OF SALT.
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins to deal with lower box office revenue and sees its Disney+ shows pull in fewer numbers, it’s safe to say that “Marvel fatigue” is starting to take effect.
While movies like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness made nearly $1 Billion worldwide movies like Eternals barley passed $400 Million. We’ve also heard from some 3rd parties showing like Ms. is amazing and He-Hulk lost viewer numbers every week after each new episode.
But Marvel hopes fans will stick around to see the next lineup of movies/shows that will lead to the end of Phase 6 with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2025 and Avengers: Secret Wars in 2026. But then Avengers: Endgame, with so many popular heroes dying or passing the torch, fans wonder “Who will lead the Avengers in those movies?“
According to a new rumor from Giant Freaking Robot, one of their “most trusted sources” says the current plan is to have Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel lead the heroes The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars; Effectively became the “Next Captain America”.
Now it’s a strange rumor since Brie Larson’s future as the cosmic hero has been called into question after fans disliked her for her off-screen acting and behavior. Not to mention Carol Danvers in the comics has been a pretty divisive character over the years, who’s comics keep getting canceled and then rebooted over and over again.
But it should be noted that in the lead up to the 2019 release of Captain Marvel The producer of the series, Kevin Feige, did say that he will lead the MCU. But it is unknown if any of those plans have changed.
Brie Larson’s next outing as the female hero is alongside Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan and Teyonah Parris’s Monica Rambeau in The miracles scheduled for July 28, 2023.
What do you think of this rumor? Do you think Brie Larson will be made the next leader of Avengers?
