Captain Marvel’s final battle against the Supreme Intelligence might have been more impressive — and, more importantly, more comic-accurate — if the movie hadn’t done away with what might be its best scene.

First of all, a gentle reminder of what the Supreme Intelligence looks like in the comics. Basically, its true form is a large head with many eyes and tentacles coming out of its head like its hair.

Well, it looks like the movie was one step away from adapting the same look on screen, but decided to ditch it for some reason. Luckily, the deleted scene is available online, though it lacks the final layers of CGI and looks unfinished.

Some fans immediately decided that Captain Marvel would have been better if the scene had made it into the final cut. Others, however, argued that Brie Larson’s acting wasn’t as underwhelming as in the rest of the film, and that the deleted scene was “wrinkly” – not least because of its unfinished CGI.

However, many people would be more sympathetic to the film if it left out the deleted scene.

Others noted that Marvel in general needs to “start having aliens that look like their comic counterparts”, which would help the studio avoid a lot of jabs from fans who are often frustrated that the movies fail to adapt the best part of the comic.

Despite the “major game boss vibes”, the scene may be “the only cool thing about the movie”, many fans argue.

Captain Marvel premiered in theaters in 2019 but did not receive a particularly warm reception from fans, who blasted the film for its “weak” storyline and Brie Larson’s “poker face” acting . The film currently enjoys a 79% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, with the audience score as low as 45%.
