(Gray News) – Disney-themed children’s clothing recalled due to lead poisoning risk.

Bentex Group has announced a recall of about 87,000 units of children’s clothing, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Officials said the affected products were sold online on Amazon and at several major retailers nationwide, including TJ Maxx, DD’s/Ross, Burlington and others from November 2021 to August 2022.

According to the recall notice, textile inks painted on the clothing contain levels of lead that exceed either the federal lead paint ban or the federal lead ban, posing a risk of lead poisoning. Lead is toxic when ingested by young children and can cause adverse health problems.

Consumers can contact Bentex by phone at 1-800-451-0285, by email at recall@bentex.com or online. The company said it would offer refunds for the recalled products.

The recall includes nine different sets of Disney-themed apparel. Officials said the item and lot numbers are printed on the neck or side label of the garment.

• Girls Shorts Set – SP2247971DC

• Set of shorts for girls – SP2246088DS

Batch numbers: SP2246088DS 03/2022.

• Set of shorts for boys – B2E6459LN
