Sustainable development is always a top priority

Paul and Cranston treat every day as Earth Day with these eco-conscious initiatives.

Local water treatment facility

  • in an effort to make a positive impact on the mezcal-producing community of San Luis del Río, Dos Hombres built and delivered in September 2021 a water filtration system for the city’s residents.

Water repurposing

  • Dos Hombres built a cooling system to treat the water used to cool the copper stills during distillation so that this water can be repurposed to reduce the amount of water needed to produce alcohol.

A natural process

  • As a sustainable spirit, Dos Hombres uses only the highest quality local agave and receives only natural soil to cultivate with natural fertilizers. The mezcal-making process does not use electricity, but Dos Hombres has installed solar panels nearby to make it easier to see when the sun is starting to set.

Transplantation

  • In addition to Espadin Mezcal, Dos Hombres also offers a very limited Tobala bottling. Tobala must be found in the wild and aged for at least 25 years before it can be harvested. For every Tobala that Dos Hombres discovers, they plant two more in its place, reclaiming the land.

So, if you have some spare time left, give the gift of style and resilience this holiday season.
