Ethan Page may have removed himself from the MCU.
In a recent appearance on The Marvelists podcast, Ethan Page talked about the state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and why he wasn’t exactly happy with the overall direction of the brand. Phase 4 of the MCU has been met with mixed reactions from fans, and Page admitted that he doesn’t care to remember what phase Marvel is in.
“This is probably something I shouldn’t admit to a podcast called The Marvelists, but I lost them a bit and I don’t know if they will come back to me. I don’t know if I’m getting old or if they do the same thing too much and it starts to add up and I just lose interest, but I don’t know what stage we’re at. I don’t care what phase we’re in. The “occasional companion of The Karate Man” was asked what he thought Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which featured a lot of martial arts and fighting.
“So I thought that movie was fresh. Also, it had different fighting scenes and martial arts movie-style delivery, it was a standout to me,” said Page. “I love that movie. The scene where they fight on the bus is one in the greatest action scene in any movie I’ve ever seen. I really liked that, and how they played his whole family throughout the story arc and building to the end, I liked everything. It is great. It’s a good movie.”
The page was also asked for some feedback on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, to which he said he was “less than ehh.”
