At 1:05 p.m., Dec. 7, police were called to Macy’s, 2201 Warrensville Center Road, for a theft report. The suspect, a short woman wearing a black coat and black mask, left in a Chevrolet Tahoe before the office arrived. A woman stole $2,091 worth of clothing.

Traffic violations: Warrensville Center Road

At 9:15 p.m. on December 5, an officer stopped a vehicle that did not have its headlights on. It was later learned that the driver, a 25-year-old woman from Warrensville Heights, was displaying expired license plates and did not have a license. The police charged the woman with an offense and confiscated her car.

Missing person found: Silsby Road

At 6 a.m. on Dec. 6, police were called to Silsby Road to a report of a girl crying hysterically. A 15-year-old non-verbal autistic girl was soon reunited with her Cleveland Heights mother.

Wrong-way driver: Warrensville Center Road

At 8:05 p.m., Dec. 6, University Heights police were notified that a driver was traveling between lanes and struck the median while his vehicle was traveling north through Shaker Heights on Warrensville Center Road in University Heights. UHPD officers spotted the vehicle and were able to conduct a traffic stop. The driver, a 74-year-old Cleveland resident, is said to be suffering from an undisclosed medical emergency.

An ambulance took the man to the hospital, and the police impounded his car for safekeeping.

OVI: South Green Road

At 5:25 a.m. Dec. 7, police conducted a welfare check on a man who appeared to be sleeping in his car in the parking lot at Heinen’s, 2180 S. Green Road. A 26-year-old University Heights man was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for OVI, failure to maintain control of a vehicle, driving without a license and driving with multiple suspensions.

Welfare Check: Cedar Road

On December 7, at 3:45 p.m., police officers were called to check the condition of a woman in a car that stopped in the parking lot. The 26-year-old Newburgh Heights woman was believed to have taken too much medication. An ambulance took her to the hospital.

Assault: Cedar Road

At 7:25 p.m., Dec. 9, police were dispatched to the Goodwill store, 13908 Cedar Road, where a 31-year-old East Cleveland man hit his co-worker, a Cleveland Heights man, in the back of the head with a CD case. , 72.

The victim told police he would seek medical attention himself. Police arrested a suspect on assault charges.

Attempted theft from a vehicle: Bushnell Road

On December 9, at 8:10 p.m., a 36-year-old man reported that someone entered his car parked at the entrance of his house. The man found four of his credit cards near the car, but nothing of value was stolen.

Domestic violence: Dysart Road

At 17:05 on December 10, a 77-year-old woman reported an incident of domestic violence that occurred a few days earlier involving her 82-year-old husband. The woman was not injured. Police investigated and the city attorney’s office decided not to press charges.

The couple’s family will go to probate court to get help for their aging and mental health issues.
