Blue Santa and his elves from the UISD Police Department visited the Holding Institute on Monday, December 19 to deliver gifts and clothing to the children.

On Monday, December 19, Blue Santa for the Unified Independent School District Police Department was joined by his elves who visited the Holding Institute to donate gifts.
Blue Santa and his elves were joined by UISD Police Department Chief Aaron Salazar, Sergeant Sergio Garcia and K9 handler Ben Bondak. The group distributed more than 200 gifts along with clothing to children of all ages.
“Seeing the smiles on these kids was priceless,” UISD wrote on Facebook.
The donations were received as part of the first Angel Tree Project at Unified High School with the help of the administration, staff and teachers. UISD said it is challenging other high schools to help make the event even bigger next year.
The Holding Institute is a non-profit organization that began in the 1860s as a school to help Mexican-American children who were left out of the established education system. It has since become a community center with more than 20 programs.
