AIZAWL: Security forces in Mizoram have recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition and other ammunition stores.

Assam Rifles troops recovered and seized the weapons, ammunition and other war stores near Tuipang in Saiha district of Mizoram.

The operation was carried out by the Lunglei Battalion of the Assam Rifles with assistance from the Mizoram police based on specific information.

The security forces in Mizoram received information about the smuggling of arms and other war stores in three Kenbo bikes.

The three bikers were intercepted by security personnel while trying to evade a mobile vehicle check post at Tuipang in Mizoram’s Siaha district.

Notably, four Myanmar nationals were also arrested in connection with the crisis.

Items recovered include: assault rifle, NX 200 antenna, .22 ammo, .177 pellets, 12 gauge (70mm) cartridges, powder kegs and Kenbo bikes.

Other stores such as tactical vests, tactical gloves, combat uniforms and boots were also recovered and seized.
