Marvel Launches New PREDATOR Comic (Again) In 2023 | Popgen Tech

When Disney bought Fox in 2019, they got the rights to many major franchises. One of the most important of the group is predator, meaning the Mouse House needs to know what to do with the property. One of the logical things they did was license Marvel Comics (also owned by Disney) to create something new for the publisher. predator comics. That started in earnest this year with writer Ed Brisson and new series artist Kev Walker. Today, Marvel announced that Brisson will relaunch the title in early 2023 with a new #1 issue.

According to the press release, predator #1 will hit shelves in March, offering readers a brand new point of view. That said, those following Brisson’s current run will not be disappointed, as it will take place within the same continuity, advancing the story by several years. Marvel also revealed a brief synopsis for the new arc, which reads as follows:

“On a planet far from Earth, eight strangers find themselves in a deadly game. But this time, the Predators aren’t the only ones looking. Someone has the Yautja in their sights—and they’re looking this game will last a long time. Get ready for a brutal, carnage-filled adventure that will blow away everything you thought you knew about Predators!”

A new artist will be joining the fun for this new arc in the form of Netho Diaz. Those interested in seeing what he has in store for us can check out the first piece of cover art, which we’ve included here for you to feast your eyes on. Brisson had this to say about it:

“As a lifetime predator fan—ever since seeing the first one at a drive-in theater at a very young age—writing comics has been an absolute dream gig. I was happy with the fan reaction and how I was able to include Theta predator lore—an evil hunter the likes of which we haven’t seen since the Dutch brought down Jungle Hunter in 1987. My only problem with our first series was that it ended too soon! I want—no…need—to write more in this universe. Fortunately, we return, with the incredible newcomer Netho Diaz in the art, to tell a story related to the continuation of the film, while breaking new ground. We’ve got a new cast, new Predators, and some big surprises waiting! If you read and loved our first series, you won’t want to miss out.”

Meanwhile, 2022 proved to be a good year for predator fans in general. Not only did the new comic not disappoint (my personal view on the matter), but we also got the most anticipated director Dan Trachtenberg. victim on Hulu. As such, it is widely regarded as the best film in the franchise in a long, long time, arguably since the original. Hopefully this new comic arc will keep the hot streak going.
