Years after Mahershala Ali was announced as the new Blade for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the original has seen a major setback. Director Bassam Tariq has left the project. Since the reboot was supposed to begin shooting this month, it goes without saying that this is a major blow to the machinery that usually hums at Marvel Studios.

THR announced that director Yann Demange will now helm the big screen return of The Daywalker, with the goal of filming at some point in 2023.
