New clothing store aims to help women, juniors flourish | Popgen Tech

Be Blossom Boutique is warm, airy and filled with soft, neutral light from pale cream walls that reveal the colors and textures of the clothes and jewelry that Amanda He has carefully curated for women and teens in this new clothing store at 161 W. Washington St.

The store has “a little bit of everything, so when families come in, there’s something for everyone, from teenagers to grandparents,” he said.

Clothing ranges from scarves, jackets and dresses to sweaters, leggings and more.

As for the necklace, he said she likes a “sophisticated, simple look” and chose earrings, many large but light, to avoid earrings that drag behind the ears.

She described some items of clothing as “flowy” and others as tight-fitting. When choosing stock, she takes into account that women have different body types.

“I look at the approach,” he said. “I chose some ‘flowy’ items to suit different people, from curvy to petite.”

When selecting stocks for her grand opening, he said she looked at “what companies are good in terms of quality.

“I try my best to find good quality for everyone and a good price,” she said, noting that she strives to make her clothes accessible to everyone.

Inside the Be Blossom boutique, Spotify softly plays Christmas music in the background, while subtle, minimalist decor touches surround the store. Comfortable chairs are a place for those who are waiting for members of their company to try on clothes in one of the two dressing rooms.

The ribbon cutting of the enterprise on November 30 gathered a large turnout. Elizabeth Pratt, executive director of the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce, said “the store adds another option for women’s clothing, which I think is always welcome.

“Her clothing lines are different from what Mad Maggie’s and Solar City have to offer, giving women a lot of variety in choosing new wardrobe items. Her prices are affordable and her selection of accessories adds to the opportunity to purchase many gifts just in time for the holidays.”

Pratt praised He’s aesthetic abilities: “Amanda has a wonderful sense of design and style; her merchandise shines in her displays and her selection is stunning.”

Finding her career path

The 2019 Sequim High School graduate said she “prepared for over a month, working day and night after work.”

He has been a server at Paradise since she was 16 years old. She said working there is “a good experience” because it’s where she learns about people and practices communication — “I was quite shy, and it helped me come out of my shell,” she said — along with multitasking and other skills.

While working and in high school, he also attended Peninsula College, starting with the Running Start program.

“When I was in college, I was trying to figure out what I really wanted to do,” she said, noting that when I was younger, I wanted to be a fashion designer, but it wasn’t realistic (because it’s so competitive).

She said a fashion marketing class in high school and some of the classes she took to earn a two-year associate of arts degree, including social media marketing and communications, were helpful, but in her career search during studies she “Nothing made me go forward.

“I looked at a lot of things… [but] deep down I owned a clothing store.”

He said her extended family and friends were “super supportive” and “encouraging”.

He said, “I wouldn’t have achieved my dream without them.”

She named her store Be Blossom Boutique because she wants “people to blossom when they shop here. We want people to feel comfortable with what they bought here.

“I want them to blossom in our clothes.”
