PNB launches WhatsApp banking for customers and non-customers | Popgen Tech

State-owned Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Monday said it has introduced banking services through WhatsApp for both customers and non-customers.
In order to activate the banking facility on WhatsApp, customers have to save the official PNB WhatsApp number 919264092640 and start a conversation (on WhatsApp) by sending hi/hello to this number, the bank said in a statement.
Customers should ensure that they check a ‘green tick’ alongside the PNB profile name on WhatsApp to ensure that this is a genuine WhatsApp bank account before starting the conversation, the statement said.
At present, Punjab National Bank (PNB) is offering non-financial services like balance enquiry, last five transactions, check stop, check book request to its account holders through WhatsApp banking service.
Other informative services that are provided to both account holders and non-account holders include online account opening, bank deposit enquiry/loan products, digital products, NRI services, branch/ATM location, opt -in, opt-out options, he said.
The WhatsApp banking service will be available 24×7, including holidays, on both Android and iOS based mobile phones
