PnB Rock Posthumous Collab with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s “Needed That” [LISTEN] | Popgen Tech
Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s “Me vs Myself” houses a rare gem-a PnB Rock collab titled “Needed That.” The posthumous appearance comes months after the rapper’s untimely death back in September, which left many feeling quite nostalgic and sad.
“Pnb Rock has been my favorite artist since I was 16. Now I’m 24. I remember clearly when “IDK” came out so hearing them together after all these years and all the work they’ve done makes it all that much more amazing. Long live the great PnB forever,” a fan commented on the video that accompanied the song.
“The evolution of their music is so beautiful. I heard “IDK” and then this right after and all I can say is wow, so proud! I miss Rock. RIP.”
“A Boogie Wit da Hoodie x PNB Rock forever an undefeated duo Rest up PnB,” wrote another.
The video, uploaded on YouTube, has more than 162,000 views with 11,000 likes and thousands of comments all saying one thing: Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and PnB Rock’s flow is like no other.
“Needed That” followed a failed relationship, with the rappers taking turns singing and rapping between the chorus and the verses.
“Tryna drown my pain out with this Styrofoam / And on the days when you see me I’ll be alone,” raps PnB Rock. “The closing in December, left me in the winter / Everything was different, that’s how I remember.”

The Bronx rapper explained why he decided to release the song, even though he didn’t want to release songs featuring failed artists.
“It feels like a weird tension to that. And I don’t like it at all so I separated his song from my album, and I’m dropping it solo as a deluxe,” explained Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
Apart from this reason, it could also be maybe because he and PnB Rock go way back. They teamed up for “IDK,” released on SoundCloud six years ago.
By all accounts, Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and PnB Rock were close, and the former even paid tribute to his longtime friend and collaborator on Instagram.
“Until we meet again, Forever in my heart is where I keep you as a friend,” wrote the late rapper on his birthday.
According to HipHopDX, “Me vs. Myself” boasts 22 songs with various other artists such as HER, Lil Durk, Kodak Black, Tory Lanez, Don Q, Roddy Ricch, and more.
