Hiranagar, December 17: Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Music Department Govt. Degree College Hiranagar organized the 28th Manthan series of lectures. Manthan is an online lecture series on music topics from Jammu and Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The lecture series started from June 2022 and is held every week. The conferences are organized under the auspices of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and Azadi Ka AmritMahotsav @75. Today’s lecture topic is ZAWKBUK, Mizo Dormitory. The resource person for the conference was Mr. R. Lallianzuala from Aizawl, Mizoram and Dr. PragyaKhanna, Principal of the College held the position of Chief Guest. Dr. PragyaKhanna in her address highly appreciated the idea of weekly music related lecture series.
Resource person for the conference Mr R Lallianzuala is a retired Joint Director, Department of Higher and Technical Education, Aizawl, Mizoram. He has taught English literature for the past 36 years in college;
He is currently member of Central Board of NEZCC Dimapur and former member of Sangeet Natak Akademi New Delhi. In his lecture he explained in detail about Mizo culture in Mizoram. He also explained the ZAWKBUK, Dormitory Mizo.
The program started with a welcome speech presented by Prof. Vikram Singh, Head, Department of Physical Education and Sports in the college. Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Head of the Department of Music on the occasion of the conclusion of the 28th Manthan lecture, thanked all the resource persons of the series who had already given the lectures in the series. He also said that after the end of the series a book compiled of all the proceedings and articles from all the conferences will be published. institution in general. Students, teachers and music lovers from all over the country participated in the webinar. Many participants discussed and shared their views on the series.
