Urfi Javed breaks silence on Dubai detention reports, says ‘nothing to do with my clothes’ | Popgen Tech

Urfi Javed made the statement two days after the actress was arrested in Dubai for allegedly filming in a revealing outfit. In a statement, the Bigg Boss OTT fame clarified that the police only came because of some problem with the location where they were shooting, adding that it had nothing to do with her attire.

“The police came to stop the shooting due to some problems on location. There was a time when we were not allowed to film because it was a public place, the production crew did not extend the time, so we had to leave. It had nothing to do with my clothes. We shot the rest the next day so that everything would be sorted,” Urfi Javed said in a statement.

Reports of Urfi’s detention in Dubai hit the headlines after E-times quoted a source as saying, “She shot a video for her Instagram in her own tailor-made outfit, which was revealing to people here in Dubai. The thing is, there is no problem with the outfit, but where she filmed the video was in the open and they don’t think it’s allowed to wear what she’s wearing. She is being interrogated by the police. Let’s see what will happen.”

Earlier, Urfi also took to her Instagram stories and expressed concern about her travel plans to the UAE after Air India and AI Express issued a joint circular stating that any passport holder with a single name would not be allowed to travel to the UAE. “So my official name is just Whorfie, no last name, and now I’m an a**,” she wrote.

On the work front, Warfi Javed was recently seen in SplitsVilla. Before that, she also featured in a music video titled Haye Haye Yeh Majboori. The DIY expert has also worked in several shows including Meri Durga, Bepannaah, Puncch Beat Season 2, Chandra Nandini, Saat Phero Ki Hera Pherie, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Kasautii Zindagii Kay. She also participated in Bigg Boss OTT last year.
